Support my challenge to care for young Western Australians

Every school day across Western Australia, 250,000 students walk into a school where someone knows their name. In 2025, YouthCARE chaplains and volunteers showed up in 600 school communities and 38 sporting clubs across the state, from the Kimberley to the Great Southern.

They sat with students navigating hard things, served nearly 700,000 meals through Breakfast Club, delivered 30,760 wellbeing sessions, and supported more than 10,000 athletes and their families on the sidelines.

260,000 people. One consistent presence. Ridiculously good care.

Your support helps provide ridiculously good care to young Western Australians.

Cycle 290km in May

I may not be ridiculously good at cycling, however YouthCARE chaplains are ridiculously good at caring for their school community. One of the key areas is supporting those struggling with mental health issues. We know that physical exercise also helps with managing our own mental health that’s why in the month of May I am going to cycle 290 kilometres, this is much more than I have done before so it will be a challenge for me. This represents 10 kilometres for each of the 29 schools in my region that has a YouthCARE chaplain.

I will be logging my KMS on here as I go so that you can see my progress.

If you'd like to support me, anything helps. You can donate, follow along, or share this with someone else.

I had a slow start to my challenge, today was my first ride of just over 10 kms so I'm still on track to complete by the end of the month. I have created a spreadsheet to help track my progress and using Strava.
