Support my challenge to care for young Western Australians

Every school day across Western Australia, 250,000 students walk into a school where someone knows their name. In 2025, YouthCARE chaplains and volunteers showed up in 600 school communities and 38 sporting clubs across the state, from the Kimberley to the Great Southern.

They sat with students navigating hard things, served nearly 700,000 meals through Breakfast Club, delivered 30,760 wellbeing sessions, and supported more than 10,000 athletes and their families on the sidelines.

260,000 people. One consistent presence. Ridiculously good care.

Your support helps provide ridiculously good care to young Western Australians.

Saturday 30th May
Last day - accompanied by Ian. 223kms ridden and $1,234 raised. Hit my target right before the storms β›ˆοΈ

Day 15

Monday 25th May
Cold morning but so clear and still. 168kms ticked off and $1069 raised!! Feeling so grateful for all the support I’ve received. It really helps to know that so many people are encouraging me to keep going. Have a wonderful Monday 😊❀️

24.5.26 - Day 14

Sunday 24th May
157km ridden and $838 raised!! Feeling so grateful (and a bit fitter too!)

Day Nine - Tuesday

Tuesday 19th May
I clicked over 104kms today - Whoop Whoop!!Β  As usual, for a weekday morning, I left and returned in the dark. It was a clear and starry morning which meant it was on the chilly side - but so still and just beautiful. I felt grateful that my body works well enough to do this and so thankful to all my supporters! Ready to embrace another wonderful day :)Β

My ride

Tuesday 19th May
My lovely bike - when I was given it for my 50th birthday, I couldn't have imagined riding this many kms on it! 104kms and counting.

Dark Mornings

Tuesday 19th May
This is me at the end of my ride. Still dark very dark but beautifully starry and clear.

Day Seven

Sunday 17th May
One week down and I am half way to reaching my goal of $800 for YouthCare! My Sunday ride was out on the road today and I was treated with a light shower and a few extra kms. I am starting week two with 82kms under my belt. Thank you again for supporting me my lovey sponsors, but also to those of you who are just with me in spirit πŸ™ŒπŸ»β€οΈπŸš΄

Day 6 - weekend ride

Saturday 16th May
It is lovely to get to the weekend and go for a ride in the light. The morning was still and overcast and the orange light gives a hint of possible rain. A beautiful way to start the day. Time to go a little farther. Up to 68kms of my 220km goal πŸ˜ŠπŸ™ŒπŸ»

Weekend ride

Saturday 16th May
Lovely to ride in the light. Time to appreciate the beauty of the morning β˜€οΈπŸ§‘

Challenge Update - Day 4

Thursday 14th May
I am now four days into my bike riding challenge. It's so great to have the opportunity to turn an activity I love into a fundraising challenge. I really appreciate the support I have already received and am so grateful to my sponsors.
I ride in the dark on school days so can't post anything more exciting than my Strava map, but on the weekend, I am looking forward to sharing my beautiful journey through the back roads on Uduc. Despite the darkness, I love to see all the stars and the moon on a clear morning, although these are the coldest. This morning was overcast, so no stars, but a lot warmer! I usually surprise the odd kangaroo and rabbit and sometimes even an owl.Β
Thanks again - and I will update you all next week.

Day One

Monday 11th May
A beautiful still morning with only an owl and a rabbit for company on my ride. The stars were still out but there was a hint of sunrise as I rode home. Thinking of my day ahead and feeling blessed for the beautiful Mother’s Day I celebrated yesterday with my family πŸ’•πŸ’
