I’m challenging myself to run 6.38km every day of May
Thursday 30th Apr This May, I’m stepping into something that feels equal parts uncomfortable and important- I’m committing to running 6.38km every single day as part of the Youthcare Ridiculously Good Challenge. Why 6.38km? Because it represents something bigger than just distance. It’s a daily reminder of the 638 Youthcare Chaplains showing up everyday, creating small, consistent steps to real change for people young and older who need support, safety and someone in their corner.
Like many families, we’ve seen firsthand how important it is for kids and adults to feel understood, supported and like they truly belong. Not everyone has that. Youthcare shows up in schools and communities, providing chaplaincy, well being support and a safe space when life feels overwhelming.
This challenge isn’t just about fitness. It’s about discipline on the hard days, showing up when I don’t feel like it, and choosing purpose over comfort - because that’s what so many people we support are doing everyday.
There will be early mornings, tired legs, wet weather and mental negotiation along the way. But if it helps raise awareness, start conversations and support the work Youthcare does, it’s worth every step.
If you’d like to follow along, support or even join in - I’d love that. Let’s do something ridiculously good together!
