Support my challenge to care for young Western Australians

Every school day across Western Australia, 250,000 students walk into a school where someone knows their name. In 2025, YouthCARE chaplains and volunteers showed up in 600 school communities and 38 sporting clubs across the state, from the Kimberley to the Great Southern.

They sat with students navigating hard things, served nearly 700,000 meals through Breakfast Club, delivered 30,760 wellbeing sessions, and supported more than 10,000 athletes and their families on the sidelines.

260,000 people. One consistent presence. Ridiculously good care.

Your support helps provide ridiculously good care to young Western Australians.

The Ridiculously Good Challenge

In 2025, YouthCARE chaplains had over 100,000 meaningful conversations with students across Western Australia. These are quiet conversations, honest moments, listening ears, and safe spaces—each one helping a young person feel seen, heard, and valued.

Over the past 18 months, I’ve stumbled into a new (and slightly obsessive) hobby: all things sourdough. What started as a simple loaf has grown into a love of slow fermentation, warm kitchens, shared food, and—most importantly—connection.

To celebrate and support the incredible impact of YouthCARE, I’m launching my Challenge: Baking 100 sourdough bakery items as a small but tangible symbol of those 100,000+ moments of connection.

That’s what makes this challenge feel ridiculously good.

You’re invited to be part of it in two ways:

  • Donate here and help YouthCARE continue creating connections of hope for young people.
  • In addition, on Saturday 23 May come and connect in person. Between 9am and 12pm, I’ll be opening my home to friends, family, and supporters to share coffee, conversation, and a very generous sampling of these 100 sourdough treats.

Good food brings people together. Real connection changes lives.
Thank you for helping make something ridiculously good possible—one loaf, one conversation, one connection at a time.
