Support my challenge to care for young Western Australians

Every school day across Western Australia, 250,000 students walk into a school where someone knows their name. In 2025, YouthCARE chaplains and volunteers showed up in 600 school communities and 38 sporting clubs across the state, from the Kimberley to the Great Southern.

They sat with students navigating hard things, served nearly 700,000 meals through Breakfast Club, delivered 30,760 wellbeing sessions, and supported more than 10,000 athletes and their families on the sidelines.

260,000 people. One consistent presence. Ridiculously good care.

Hello YouthCARE supporters, 
I am challenging myself to create 613 personal affirmation cards (one for every student enrolled at my school and 45 bag charms (one for every 10 YouthCARE Chaplains working in schools and sporting communities across WA). Just to put that into perspective that means I will be creating 153 cards and 12 bag charms per week of the month of May. 

These will be designed and created by myself and distributed to the students at the end of the challenge.

I am slowly making progress on my 613 cards. Laminating starts this week!

HALF WAY!!

Monday 11th May
We are halfway through this challenge in both time and funds raised! THANKYOU SO MUCH!! I still have a lot of work to go, but I am having a great time making these cards and am really happy with how they are looking. I have a group of students who pop in during the school day and offer ideas and encouragement which is so special and very much appreciated (especially when creative block hits). Keep the support coming my friends and in the meantime, I will be hear at my desk smashing out more of these. Remember that affirmation cards and Bag charms will be available for purchase after the challenge is complete so keep an eye out for anything that you like and message me. Proceeds will be going to YouthCARE.

Putting the FUN into Fundraising!

Friday 1st May
and so we begin, beads have been ordered, the design juices are flowing and I am ready for a month of creativity. Those who know me, know that anything creative if capital F for FUN!!

I hope you will following along as a post updates and little sneak peak into my progress on this challenge. 

I will also be selling the bag charms for $8 and sets of 10 affirmation cards for $5. All the proceeds will be going to YouthCARE to further the Fundraising efforts.
